Week 5 = strawberries!
OK, I'll admit it -- this week is a bit of a scammy installment of The Rescue. I mean, come on: we both know that no one is ever at a loss for what to do with strawberries, right?
Just. Eat. Them.
But I thought you might appreciate a baker's dozen of amazingly different and delicious recipes for those ripe, juicy strawberries that are showing up at produce stands, farmer's markets and pick-your-own farms all over (including Vermont, finally!). As usual, all these recipes come from my (and hopefully your) favorite bloggers.
Enjoy your strawberries -- and don't forget to stash some in the freezer for the winter!

As I urge every week, please feel free to suggest some produce in the comments below and I'll feature them in next week's roundup!
I had the same thought; who ever has extra strawberries that they don't know what to do with??? Although now that I think about it, I have had an overabundance of ones that were starting to go bad, so I can see having a bunch that are suitable only for baking. Maybe.
ReplyDeleteI still have a whole bunch in the freezer from LAST year, so I need to make a bunch of these recipes just to make room for the new ones. :-)
DeleteSo OK, now that I made that comment I actually have a sitution of too many strawberries. With teenage son (AKA the human vacuum) out of town, I grossly overestimated how many strawberries we could eat. Yay for this post!!
ReplyDeleteAnd don't forget about freezing them -- it's so awesome to pull them out in, say, JANUARY!!!
